Ludie Sénatus is an intuitive Haitian-American artist. Most people are familiar with Ludie’s artistry through makeup but art has always been an intimate part of her life. She works with acrylic, water color and pastels. Experiments with pigment on live canvas (body-art). Ludie is constantly refining her talent.  As an artist she seeks to constantly learn, grow and evolve and hope that this manifests in her art. Her signature work consists of brightly colored portraits, and collected objects. She experiments with the real and surreal, digital, contemporary and abstract.

 

Ludie was born with an artistic flare which led her to begin drawing and painting at a very young age. She was born into the rich cultural diversity of Miami, Florida. She is the oldest child of proud Haitian immigrants that arrived in the United States in that late 1970’s due to political unrest. When she was 7 years old, her parents sold their business and moved back to Haiti where she lived until she was 17 years old. It was during this period that Ludie was exposed to the stimulus that inspires her artistic vision today.

 

Ludie returned to the United States at the age of 17 to study business and eventually became heavily involved in fashion. Since that time, Ludie has built a successful career as a creative consultant and professional makeup artist and is now seeking to make the world a better place through her art.
